ABOUT FIFTY3
Marketing and More

Fifty3 began life as a marketing agency in Kingston upon Thames in spring 2006. My background is in sales and marketing with much of my past life spent on the agency side of the desk. Today I continue to help businesses to present and promote their products and services more successfully.

I have experience across all areas of marketing services including advertising, design, research, branding and promotion, and seek to bring a clearer vision to the busy marketer by providing creative ideas, sound advice and practical project management.
I set out to write compelling copy for all forms of print and digital media.

How does music fit in to all this?
Fifty3 champions great contemporary music through a weekly digest called Fifty3 Fridays, plus from time to time album reviews, live reviews and features, promoting breakthrough artistes and live shows.
It fits because I love writing, music is my driving passion and musicians need to market themselves, especially when the vast majority do not have the safe harbour of a major recording contract.
Here is an appropriately titled song from Charlotte Campbell to echo that thought.

FIFTY3 champions
outstanding new music
through Fifty3 Fridays and
occasional features
Music is a great passion of mine. In my teenage years I was an avid record collector and concert goer. Stints as a booking agent, running folk clubs, promoting gigs and even a crack at artiste management followed. While it never became my main occupation, music was always on my personal radar.
In the past 15 years I have written for leading US music website Consequence and breakthrough site, BestNewBands. I am a judge for Glastonbury Festival's Emerging Talent Competition and have reviewed the festival for both sites. I am now pleased to curate my very own music site.
Nothing gives me greater pleasure than unearthing great, original new music and championing independent musicians. You’ll find many of them on this site alongside the occasional legend of times past and I hope they will bring you as much joy as they give me.
